Specimen: Myself

Full-stack by trade, curious by default.

I'm Abdullah Lukman Rafi — a software engineer who's spent over 2 years shipping production web apps for enterprise clients, and the rest of the time documenting what broke along the way.

How I got here

Four years of engineering college earned me a B.E. in Computer Science. Since August 2024, I've been a Software Engineer, developing a knack for turning complex requirements into working software that actually ships.

Along the way, I've designed and developed web applications, worked across frontend and backend systems, integrated authentication and third-party services, and improved application performance and user experience.

I've also explored AI engineering, building solutions that combine APIs, data retrieval, and modern AI technologies to solve real-world problems.

I'm still learning, experimenting, and occasionally figuring things out as I go. I'd rather be a jack of many trades than a master of just one. I enjoy being a beginner, exploring unfamiliar territory, and picking up new skills along the way.

The lab notes

whoami → Full-stack developer. React, Django, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, TypeScript

test suite → BDD Cypress, Jest, Cucumber. I trust nothing, so everything is covered (+25% coverage at work).

deploy config → Docker, GCP Cloud, Vercel, CI/CD. Ship first, calm sleep second, both non-negotiable.

certs → Meta Front-End Developer (certified) + a Cambridge BEC Preliminary (certified in explaining bugs politely in two languages).

Certified off the clock

Football fan

FC Barcelona — aculè, and a 90-minute cardio session by heart every matchday. And then, unavoidably:Messi is the GOAT. That's not an opinion; it's a peer-reviewed constant, like gravity, only more reliable. Visca el Barça.

Sitcom scholar

Emotional support comedy, fully rewatch-certified: Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory. I document builds the way Ted narrates: with dramatic pauses and inevitable flashbacks. And I've been stuck onSeason 4 of my own project — the writers refuse to resolve the cliffhanger.

The tea guy

Yes, tea as in the drink — but alsotea as in the slang: the gossip, the lore, the spillage. In tech everything is undocumented tea: who deprecated which API, why the build failed, what production really did at 3 AM. This site is my kettle. Steeped, documented, and spilled — one note at a time.
